FAQ
Who sees the tiers, how overlapping sets resolve, and what happens on uninstall.
Who gets the tier prices?
Everyone who reaches the break quantity, including guests and ordinary logged in customers. Shopify's own quantity price breaks only apply to B2B company accounts, which is the gap this app fills.
Where does the discount apply?
In the cart, at checkout, on draft orders, and in the Shop app, because it is applied by a Shopify Function rather than by anything in your theme.
Can I restrict a tier set to wholesale customers?
Yes, with a customer tag restriction on the Pro plan. That gives you wholesale pricing without running a second storefront. A guest never matches a restricted set, and the price table is hidden from guests for the same reason.
Does quantity count per variant or per product?
Your choice, per tier set. Turn on Aggregate across variants when a buyer mixing sizes of the same product should still reach the break. Aggregation never counts across different products.
Two tier sets cover the same product. Which wins?
The one higher in the list. Sets are evaluated in list order and the first set that covers a line claims it, even if that line has not yet reached a break. Reorder the list to change the answer.
Do the tiers stack with my other discounts?
The tier discount is applied by a Shopify Function at cart calculation, and combines with your other discounts according to the combination settings on the discount. Set those the way you would for any automatic discount.
Can I import thousands of SKUs?
Yes, from CSV, on the Growth plan and above. Every row is validated, you get a preview and an error report, valid rows are applied in batches, and any handle or SKU that could not be found is listed rather than silently dropped.
Why is the price table missing on a product I scoped?
Four normal reasons. The set is disabled or deleted. The set is restricted to a customer tag and the visitor is a guest. The set uses fixed unit prices and the visitor is browsing in a currency other than your shop's, where a fixed price would be wrong. Or the scope covers more than a thousand products, in which case the discount still applies to all of them but only the first thousand carry the table, and the admin says so when you save.
Does the tier table slow the product page down?
No. It renders in Liquid from a metafield the app maintains, so it is there on first paint. There are no external requests and no script tags.
Does the app see my customer data?
No. The only thing it asks about a shopper is whether they carry the customer tags your tier sets name, and that question is answered inside a Shopify Function, which runs on Shopify's own infrastructure with no network access. No customer name, email, address, or order history is read or stored anywhere.
Does it work with the trade theme?
Yes, and that pairing is the point. The theme carries the quick order list and the quantity rules display, this app carries the discount, because a theme cannot ship discount logic. The getting started guide has the exact steps.
What happens on uninstall?
The discount stops applying and the blocks stop rendering. The tier sets remain as metaobjects in your store, so reinstalling picks them up.
