FAQ

Rules, units, accessibility, translations, and what happens when you uninstall.

Does it edit my theme?

No. Both storefront pieces are theme app extension blocks. You add them in the theme editor, you can move or remove them, and nothing is written into your theme files.

Two rules match the same product. Which chart wins?

The one with the lower priority number. If a product is both a Shirt at priority 10 and tagged plus-size at priority 5, the plus-size rule wins.

Can one product break the rules?

Yes. Set that product's Size chart metafield. The product override always beats the rules and the default chart.

How do I get both centimeters and inches?

Set the chart's unit system to Both, enter one set of measurements, and press Convert into the other unit. The storefront dialog then shows a toggle and displays one table at a time. It is on the Free plan, because the storefront cannot gate it and selling it as a Pro feature would be false advertising.

Can I paste from a spreadsheet?

Yes. Copy the cells, paste them into the paste panel, and choose Replace the table. The first line becomes the columns.

Are the charts translatable?

Yes. Charts are stored in app owned metaobjects, which Translate and Adapt can read like any other store content.

Is the dialog accessible?

It is keyboard operable, focus trapped while open, closes on Escape and on a backdrop click, and returns focus to the link that opened it. The unit toggle buttons announce their pressed state.

How much does it add to the page?

One small script, no external requests, and no layout shift. The dialog is hidden with display: none until it is opened, so nothing moves when it appears.

Collection counts come from the collection's own product count rather than a products search, because the search syntax filters collections by numeric id rather than by handle. The count is correct, it is just calculated a different way.

What is stored outside my store?

Charts and rules are metaobjects on your own store. The only record held outside it is the session for your shop, which is deleted when you uninstall and again if Shopify sends a shop redaction request. No customer personal data is read or stored, and the app does not request a scope that would grant it.

What happens on uninstall?

The blocks stop rendering. Your charts and rules stay in your store as metaobjects, so reinstalling picks up where you left off.
